Frequently asked questions

Do I have to install a Shopify app?

No. Export your orders as CSV and the analysis runs in your browser — the file never leaves your machine. A Shopify connector exists for keeping numbers current once you've decided the tool is worth it.

Why does my return rate differ from other tools?

Most line-item exports repeat the order id across rows. Counting matching rows against distinct orders inflates every rate — one tripled export we tested read 27.6% when the true figure was 9.2%. Orders are collapsed to distinct ids before any rate is computed, and the query is shown so you can confirm the grain.

What if I don't have cost data?

Revenue metrics still compute. SKUs with no cost are excluded from margin rather than counted at 100% margin, and the page says how many were excluded — a silently inflated margin is worse than a missing one. You can paste per-SKU costs in and it recomputes.
